Meet the Rebels
The front-man and voice of Store Bought Rebels, Isaac has
always had the utmost respect for music. An advocate of all interesting
musical ideas, in his own words he is drawn to everything “from Glenn
Gould to Dave Grohl.” After years of exploring widely disparate genres,
including folk, rock and classical, he endeavored to begin his own career in
the socially conscious world of punk rock. Starting on drums, his musical
interests quickly brought him to learn piano, guitar, and later singing. His
aggressive but ever-melodic vocals recall the pop song sensibility akin to the
Beatles while keeping the driving punk aggression that is reminiscent of the
origins of punk rock.
Born in Chicago in 1987, Michael found his first love in
music at the ripe young age of seven while listening to the then new and
subversive sounds of Nirvana. As he matured he developed a further taste for
music, specifically punk rock. The DIY ethos and socially conscience nature of
punk bands appealed to him in such a way that he was encouraged to build his
own project. Upon finding a musical and ethical match in Isaac, Store Bought
Rebels were formed.
A skilled young drummer, Nick is credited with bringing much
of the speed, ferocity and rhythmic complexity to the music of Store Bought
Rebels. He is known as the task-master of Store Bought Rebels, with a solid
mind to keep the band in line. Living and breathing drums, rhythm and music,
Nick has been with the band since the beginning and remains a driving force in
their success.
Joe was acquired by Store Bought Rebels from his position at
the helm of Chicago punk band 7 Minute Abs. As much involved in playing lead
as rhythm, shredding and riffing with equal skill, guitar was a natural
addition to Joe’s life. He is an asset to the band both as an
instrumentalist and a songwriter and is credited with raising the bar on the
level of composition for the band.
As the most recent member to join the band, the addition of
Cozmo on Bass rounded out both the line-up and sound of Store Bought Rebels.
He is a skillful bassist as well as guitarist, and his lines add greatly to
the melodic content and character of the music. Cozmo is an intense and
energetic performer and is known for taking stage dives during many Store
Bought Rebels performances.
